The type of character that may not spawn every map or playthrough, but when they do, oh boy, they are fantastic. Sure, we can appoint leaders in our community, and you receive a slight buff from leader-specific traits and bonuses, but I want genuine heroes. Even better! Scrap metal walls to protect my community! Heroes Maybe I have an excess of wood? Then, wood walls arise! Or, I have a ton of scrap metal. I want to pick and choose what defenses go up, what types of walls are constructed around the perimeter. That’s kind of boring, and that’s coming from someone who loves the game and plays it daily. Constructible DefensesĮvery base in State of Decay and State of Decay 2 comes stock with pre-constructed walls and defenses. I’m fine with that premise, so long as every map is easily connected and traversable. Yeah, I guess we would require a loading screen between each zone. I want connected maps, so that my survivors may travel to another area, loot to their heart’s content, then return home in my favorite base. Now, how many make it all the way to day one hundred? It’s a challenge, and to complete it, you must move around to a new map. I mean, how many of us complete the game after, say, ten days or less? A lot. That being said, I want more I want bigger bases, I want communities capable of holding twenty or thirty survivors at any given time.Īnd in those larger bases, I want the ability to construct more buildings to ensure long-term survival plans. Those found in, say, Providence Ridgeand Meagher Valley remain a few of my absolute favorite base designs in the series. It’s coming, and I cannot contain my excitement much longer! Now, in 2021, I’m awaiting the launch of State of Decay 3. It’s like rule number one in the gaming scene. I even pre-ordered, despite everyone on the internet telling you repeatedly not to. Then, in 2018, I eagerly awaited the release of State of Decay 2. When logged in, you can choose up to 12 games that will be displayed as favourites in this menu. That was back in 2013, and I excitedly worked with the team’s marketing department to promote the game via hidden images on my website back in the day. Back when I first began writing about video games, the first State of Decay was launching on Xbox Live Arcade. State of Decay is an ambitious zombie-survival-fantasy game, currently available for Xbox 360 and PC.If you couldn’t tell by the rest of the site, I absolutely adore State of Decay - the whole franchise - and I’m incredibly excited to get my hands on State of Decay 3. Now you and the few scattered survivors must band together to survive and rebuild in a 3rd-person action game set in a dynamic open world. Life as you knew it has gone to hell after the mother of all zombie outbreaks. Players could also use the in-game radio to put out a call for help on the State of Decay servers, inviting any other player online to jump in and play on your map. As a result, there was no room on the map for entirely distinct exploration, and the tethering mechanism made short escapes from zombie swarms a little too easy in some circumstances.
The arriving player would be linked to the host, which meant that if they wandered too far away from the host, they would black-screen and return to a location near the host. However, there were a few drawbacks to the system. You could invite a friend who might join you after you've launched a campaign, taking over another survivor in your town.
State Of Decay 3 MultiplayerĪlthough State of Decay 2 was mostly a solo experience, there were numerous methods to play with friends or join strangers in their games. The game is unlikely to be launched during a period when new games are still being released for last-gen systems.

Zombie-affected animals can be seen, particularly a deer consuming a wolf. This may indicate a map based on Alaska, Colorado, Wyoming, or Canada. A female survivor can be seen on the cold wasteland in the trailer.
